Scott rubbed his jaw. "I can't believe you hit me!"
"It worked. You stopped talking."
"You asked me--"
"Rhetorical question, Scott," his assailant said. "I don't actually want to know what you've been doing with Emma Frost."
"So you hit me?"
"Hit me back if you like." The offer was almost...attractive, Scott thought, shocked at himself. "Or....we could just talk. We haven't done that in a while."
The trump card. "You're shamelessly manipulative," Scott, completely off-balance now, growled feebly at his son. "I ought to hit you."
"You can try. Later." Nathan smirked. "Any coffee in the house?"
